Le Saux believes Loftus-Cheek will be given Chelsea chance

Hodgson says there is no reason why Loftus-Cheek can not be on the plane to Russian Federation next summer but has warned him that being an England player brings with it a whole set of new challenges to overcome.

The 21-year-old announced himself on the global stage for England during the recent break with impressive displays against both Germany and Brazil, the latter being cut short by a back injury which could keep him out of Saturday's clash with Everton.

Such eye-catching displays coupled with Chelsea's underwhelming start to their latest title defence, has led many to question how the Lewisham native was allowed to leave in the first place, with Blues winger Willian telling reporters in the mixed zone after that Brazil friendly that he did not know why a teammate he believes has a "great future" was now at Palace.

Loftus-Cheek has been the one spark for bottom of the table Crystal Palace.

Loftus-Cheek impressed on his senior debut for the national team against Germany last week and Hodgson is confident that the attention won't affect the Chelsea loanee. However, there is certainly a place that can be won for both players at the club in the future.

"I think he's a quality player", Hodgson said.

"Now it's right for them to play regularly".

However, Paul Clement and Roy Hodgson have stressed that it would only be possible to trigger break clauses in the loan deals in the event that neither was playing regularly.

And Conte has insisted that the duo could draw inspiration from centre-back Andreas Christensen, who has broken into Chelsea's starting XI after two loan spells away at Borussia Monchengladbach. The important thing for Palace is that he plays and helps us do well. I don't think it will, he's a very composed and sensible young man. I hope that won't affect him.
