Arsene Wenger says end-of-season review of Arsenal position nothing unusual

Both players are out of contract at the end of the season, and both have been continuously linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium though nothing has been resolved so far.

However, he has admitted he could leave the north London club sooner, regardless of whether he wants to honour his contract or not.

And Wenger has fanned the flames by revealing he will sit down at the end of the season with the board to discuss his future.

"Maybe, yes, I will do it at some stage but until now I like to be involved every day in the life of a club because the real test is there", he told beIN Sports, when asked if he would consider an global role.

Wenger hinted last month at Arsenal's Annual General Meeting that his position would come under review but says his comment that he would "see where I go from there" had been misconstrued.

"Do we let anyone go in January? So that's quite simple", Goal quoted him as saying.

A growing number of Arsenal fans called for Wenger to step down from his role as his contract expired last summer, but their fifth-place in the Premier League was partially glazed over by a third FA Cup triumph in four years.

Arsène Wenger, who talked past year about the idea of being England manager, has spoken of the possibility of a move into worldwide football and being involved at the 2022 World Cup.

"Maybe, yes, I will do it at some stage but until now I like to be involved every day in the life of a club because the real test is there", he said.

Also, when asked whether he could manage at the 2022 World Cup, Wenger added, "Maybe, maybe on the bench..."
