Georgia-Georgia Tech kickoff time announced

Georgia finished with 381 yards rushing against the Wildcats (7-4, 4-4), averaging 8.7 yards per carry.

Georgia senior running backs Nick Chubb and Sony Michel had a grand Sanford Stadium send-off Saturday, combining for 238 rushing yards and five touchdowns in the Bulldogs' 42-13 rout of Kentucky.

Quite a Senior Day, indeed. Michel finished with 87 yards on 12 carries and scored three touchdowns.

When it was done, they both climbed atop a platform in front of the student section to celebrate. "Who knows? I'm sure his body appreciates it". "Believe it or not, that's my first time ever doing that".

Neither Chubb nor Michel was tackled for a loss all game.

"When you take an "L" like that, you've just got to keep moving forward", Michel said.

Recent road successes by the Kentucky football program have given members of the travel party the opportunity to climb onto charter flights heading for home and not feel as though they were boarding a mausoleum with wings.

Now all that stands in the way of Georgia and a likely spot in the College Football Playoff scenario is the SEC title game against Alabama or Auburn in December and a game against Georgia Tech Saturday in Atlanta. "They took a tough loss a week ago but the rest of the season they've played like the No. 1 team in the country".

On Georgia's next drive, set up by a 20-yard punt return by Mecole Hardman to the Georgia 49, Fromm put the Dogs in Kentucky territory with an 11-yard pass to Terry Godwin.

Georgia promptly marched 66 yards down the field and scored on an 8-yard touchdown run for Chubb.

Georgia cruised downfield for a pair of touchdowns late in the second quarter. After just one-quarter, Georgia only led 7-6. The previous week, they were held to 46 yards by Auburn - with Chubb and Michel enduring their worst games of the season.

Kentucky had won the opening toss and deferred to the second half; sound strategy given that Georgia had ground out a 21-6 first-half lead. That was the last hurrah for the Wildcats, whose frustrating showing was epitomized by quarterback Stephen Johnson getting body-slammed to the ground by Georgia's D'Andre Walker.

13 - Consecutive field goals made by UK's Austin MacGinnis.

Overall, Georgia gained 504 yards on 58 plays after gaining 231 in the first half on 32 plays.

The Cats had only 262 yards of total offense. The only season in which he failed to reach quadruple figures was as a sophomore, when a devastating knee injury limited him to 747 yards in six games.

"That's my guy", Chubb said.

"That's great company to have", Chubb said.

NO. 17 MISS. STATE 28, ARKANSAS 21: Nick Fitzgerald threw a touchdown pass to Deddrick Thomas with 17 seconds left, and Mississippi State survived a lackluster performance.

That was as close as the game would get however. The Wildcats upset their state rival 41-38 last season.

Beat writers who cover Georgia football through the years, searching for metaphoric glee at the antics of Herschel Walker, Garrison Hearst, Terrell Davis et al., no doubt have long since exhausted of references to Sherman's march through Atlanta.
