Apple iPhone SE 2 could be the next release from the company

Apple first introduced the iPhone SE in early 2016, and it was little more than an iPhone 5s smartphone that was modernized with an iPhone 6s-class A9 processor, Apple Pay support and improved cameras.

While other brand manufacturers offer retailers a margin of 10-15 per cent on their newest mobiles, Apple was offering 6.5 per cent on the launch iPhone X. Now, the company has reduced the retailers' margin to 4.5 per cent, which is nearly 30 per cent less, the report says.

Apple will release a new iPhone SE 2 in the first half of next year to storm emerging markets and ignite the first battle of next year's "machine war" between Apple and non-Apple. According to the latest info, the iPhone SE 2 launch date could be set during H1 2018.

Amid high demand for the iPhone X in India despite its steep price, Apple Inc has reportedly slashed the retailers' margin on the anniversary edition iPhone by almost 30 per cent.

"Apple gives the least margins".

According to the report, industry insiders say that brands like Samsung or Xiaomi offer more margin than Apple does, around 12-15 percent. Offline owners also note that while their margins have reduced, online players like Amazon and Flipkart offer cashbacks and discounts on iPhones, including the iPhone X, that's causing unfair competition. Due to this factor, the retailers have stopped to stock up with Apple iPhone X, as the phone costs a lot bomb and if it goes unsold, then the company will be in a lot of trouble.

"They (Apple) will have to start now because if they lose a window of opportunity in next two years to be on mind of the growing smartphone user base, it would be somewhat hard to grow faster in the world's ssecond-largestsmartphone market", said Neil Shah, research director at Hong Kong based Counterpoint Research. $350 is a lot of money for the Indian market. It starts at Rs 89,000 for the 64GB model going up to Rs 1,02,000 for the 256GB variant. If you were not aware, the assembly of iPhone SE also occurs over there.
