Clippers G Patrick Beverley undergoes knee surgery

Beverley underwent surgery to fix a microfracture and meniscus injury to his right knee and will miss the rest of the season, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Beverley left the Clippers after Monday's game against the Knicks in NY, the team's ninth consecutive defeat, and returned to Los Angeles for the procedure. Beverley had surgery earlier today, which required a fix of a microfracture and meniscus injury to his right knee. The 29-year-old apparently re-aggravated the injury in the loss. He was sidelined for five games because of knee soreness, but returned to the lineup to play 22 minutes against the Knicks. According to the Los Angeles Times, Beverley was sent back and had the surgery which will keep him out for a while.

The Clippers have won only once since their buzzer-beating victory over Portland on October 29 that started their season 4-0. By his second season in Houston, Beverley had developed into one of the better perimeter defenders in the league.

Beverely has averaged 12.9 points, three assists and three rebounds for the Clippers this season.

The Clippers (5-11) have lost 11 of 12 games since then, with their only victory coming over the Dallas Mavericks (3-15).
