Body found hanging in Nahargarh Fort in protest of Padmavati

"Padmavati", the 190-crore film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, has drawn angry protests in Rajasthan where fringe groups like the Karni Sena says the movie "distorts history".

"Hum putle nahi jalate, latkate hain' (we don't burn effigies, we kill)".

A note was also seen scribbled on the rocks was also seen. A note saying "Padmavati Virodh (protest)" has been found inscribed on stones. However, it was not immediately clear if it was a case of murder or suicide. "The identity of the man, around 40-years-old, is yet to be ascertained", Satyendra Singh, DCP Jaipur (North), told IANS.

The release of Bollywood movie Padmavati has been delayed as threats against movie lead actor Deepika Padukone worsen.

Moviemaker Bhansali in an appeal has clarified that no romantic dream sequence between the Queen Padmavati and Allahuddin Khilji is shown in the film but the threats still continue. Shri Rajput Karni Sena chief Lokendra Singh Kalvi had expressed disappointment in the BBFC's decision and demanded a global ban on the film's release. India's Karni army has condemned the incident and have said that they have nothing to do with this.

As the film was supposed to release on December 1, there are over 50 countries where this process (of certification) is on, he said.

On Wednesday, the Karni Sena had said that it would not allow the period drama starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor to be released even if required changes were made in it.
