Pixel 2: Google Refusing To Admit Blue Shift Fault!

Pixel users can see the new battery predictions via Settings Battery which will now show personalised battery estimates. To avoid precisely this, Google is implementing a new Smart Battery feature, and all Pixel devices are about to receive it.

With Smart Battery, that prediction will be informed by your usage habits using an on-device model of when you use your phone throughout the day, what you use it for, and most importantly, how those different activities affect battery life. Michelle, a Product Manager at Google's NYC Office, says "Your phone looks at your battery usage on similar days and times, and uses that to predict your battery life in a personalised way".

In addition, clicking the battery icon will provide you with an estimate represented graphically over time. It wasn't received well by the public, however, the company said it was there to stay. It was on the Google Play Store but is not now available.

One of Android 8.0 Oreo's new features is the new actionable battery menu, which gives you far more details and options than the previous design.

These updates are now widely rolling out this morning to original Pixel and Pixel XL owners on Android 8.1. The users can get to know how the battery will be used throughout the day on a chart.

If you have a Nexus or Pixel device running Android 7.1 or higher (or a near-stock ROM), you should see an update soon. It brought a lot of new features from the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL to their predecessors.
