Lamborghini Urus Is The Supercar SUV You've Been Waiting For

Produced at its Sant'Agata Bolognese headquarters in Italy, Lamborghini believes the model could double its annual sales volumes, which stood at 3,457 a year ago.

The Lamborghini Urus has a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 under the bonnet able to rip from standstill to 100km/h in 3.6 seconds. It is capable of propelling occupants from 0-62 miles per hour in just 3.6 seconds. This is the new 2019 Lamborghini Urus, whether you wanted it or not. But due to its torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive system deciding where power is going at any given moment, it promises to be comfortable and capable in off-road situations too.

And, just so you can confirm that this is real and actually happening, here are some more photos of Lamborghini's new SUV.

It will reach a top speed of 305 kph (190 mph), can go from zero to 100 kph in 3.6 seconds and brake from 100 kph to zero in 33.7 metres, company officials said.

Torque is normally split 40:60 front-to-rear but 70 per cent can be sent to the front or 87 per cent to the rear, depending on conditions. Weighing in at just under 2,200 kg, the Urus will have a class-leading power-to-weight ratio and will be stopped by carbon-ceramic brakes - the largest to be fitted on any production auto.

Rear-wheel steering varies up to three degrees in either direction and can effectively reduce wheelbase length by up to 600mm at low speed to aid manoeuvrability or lengthen it by the same amount at high speed to increase stability.

With adaptive air suspension the ride height can be raised from its 6.3-inch standard setting to 10 inches and the Urus can be specified with either 21 or 23-inch wheels.

"It will feature driving modes that give it capabilities in off-tarmac situations such as snow or sand".

The luxury interior can be specified with a variety of hides and trim finishes while a 1,700 Watt Bang & Olufsen sound system is an option.

Lamborghini has unveiled its own unique combination of sports auto and functional SUV with the Urus. It's been a long time coming since the original concept was first shown in 2012, but based on the many teasers and spy photos we believe that the Urus should live up to the hype.
