Liverpool not looking to do Barcelona any favours regarding Coutinho

Jurgen Klopp has refused to be drawn on reports suggesting that Liverpool have named their price for Barcelona target Philippe Coutinho.

Barcelona have arguably failed to replace Xavi in the two years since the 2010 World Cup winner left for Qatar. Indeed, there is still negotiating to be done. Of course Phil is still essential for us.

The German manager was also non-committal when asked about transfer comings and goings for other players with the club when the window opens in January.

'I cannot give an answer for that now.

Conte said: "My players must be happy to stay in Chelsea and to play for Chelsea and to play for our fans".

Yes, Spartak Moscow's visit to Anfield on Wednesday is probably the most important game of the week (how wild is that of a statement). Liverpool and Barcelona have not been talking directly, Liverpool are not interested right now, as things stand, in selling Coutinho. The point is to try to win the league. "If it's not possible here then we need to think about it [a loan]".

However, it hasn't negated the growing hype and naturally, led with quality like Paul Pogba, Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappe, the expectations are high.

As European champions, they command respect and with Cristiano Ronaldo heading up a side which is blessed by a veteran core (Joao Moutinho and Pepe) and youthful exuberance (Bernardo Silva and Andre Silva), Fernando Santos has a promising group of players to take to Russia.

"I really see Marko in the future playing for Liverpool".

Barca have been trying to renew Sergi's contract but that has not happened as yet. "There was a lot of talk during the close season".

The England international is recovering from a preseason thigh injury and Klopp said: "Adam felt the muscle more than he should".

"That's why we left him out of the squad at Stoke. It's unlikely he will be involved at Brighton but we'll see".
