Huawei P11 Leak Shows Unique Trio-Camera Setup

Huawei P11 Leak Shows Unique Trio-Camera Setup

It's looking like the flagship P11 will tout a 40MP triple-lens camera, developed in partnership with German optics specialist Leica, complete with a five-times hybrid zoom.

The Huawei P11 will be the first smartphone to feature a triple-lens camera configuration, if a batch of promotional material prematurely shared by one of the firm's creative agencies is to be believed.

Huawei has recently launched its Mate 10 series which has gained huge popularity after its launch.

Evan Blass was able to obtain some interesting ads that were posted by a digital artist with Huawei affiliation.

Adding fuel to the fire, Blass says the images have now been removed from the source, which is generally an indication that the information is legit. Moreover, the cameras may be once again co-engineered with photography company Leica. Yes, three lenses on the back, 40MP resolution, 5x zoom, and a 24MP front-facing camera to boot. In spite of the success, Huawei won't be resting on its oars next year, as a new leak has revealed key info about the next gen P-series.

It's important to remember, however, that a higher megapixel camera doesn't always necessarily mean better performance.

This year Huawei chose to make its flagship smartphone official at Mobile World Congress, which was a departure from what the company's done in the past few years when it favored standalone events in April. It is true that Huawei has yet to offer something unique that will drive sales in a Western market, but will this trio of cameras actually be enough? For selfie lovers, the phone will have 24 MP selfie camera.

Currently, the Pixel 2 tops the DxOMark rank for the best mobile camera on the market.
