Jeffrey Tambor Hasn't Exited 'Transparent' Despite Earlier Statement

After Tambor was accused of harassment by a former assistant and an actress on the show, the Emmy victor issued a statement saying, "Given the politicized atmosphere that seems to have afflicted our set, I don't see how I can return to 'Transparent'".

Transparent creator Jill Soloway was even reportedly working with the show's writers on crafting a fifth season without Tambor.

Tambor's exit from the show had been rumored since the first sexual harassment claim was made against him from former assistant and actress Van Barnes. Since Tambor's statement, makeup artist Tamara Delbridgen claimed that Tambor forcibly kissed her the set of Never Again in 2001.

On Wednesday, a rep for Jeffrey Tambor revealed that the actor may not be leaving Transparent after all.

After several sexual harassment allegations against Transparent star Jeffrey Tambor surfaced, it was widely reported - including here - that he was departing the show. "What has become clear over the past weeks, however, is that this is no longer the job I signed up for four years ago".

In the wake of the allegations, many of those who work on the show feared it would get canceled. In the statement, he also said he was "deeply sorry if any action of mine was ever misinterpreted by anyone as being sexually aggressive, but the idea that I would deliberately harass anyone is simply and utterly untrue". After that, guest star Trace Lysette said that Tambor had behaved inappropriately around her. "He came in close, put his bare feet on top of mine so I could not move, leaned his body against me and began quick, discreet thrusts back and forth against my body".

Neither Tambor nor Amazon have issued a public statement about his fate on the acclaimed series. "I felt his penis on my hip through his thin pajamas, and I pushed him off of me".

She urged Amazon to 'remove the problem and let the show go on'. The results of that investigation are not clear, and the company hasn't made any explicit statement on whether they are parting ways with the actor.
