CSKA drop into the Europa League, while Basel reached the last 16 for the third time this decade, the Swiss champions beating Benfica 2-0 in Lisbon with goals from Mohamed Elyounoussi and Dimitri Oberlin.

CSKA Moscow lost 1:2 to UK's Manchester United in the final round of the UEFA Champions League qualification stage yesterday night.

Diego Perotti scored early in the second-half as Roma edged Qarabag 1-0 at the Stadio Olympico to win Group C ahead of Chelsea, who had to come from behind to draw 1-1 at home to Atletico.

The draw for the round of 16 takes place at UEFA's headquarters in Nyom in Switzerland on Monday.

Manchester United and Liverpool qualified as group winners too, with Jurgen Klopp's side clinching top spot in Group E with their emphatic 7-0 thrashing of Spartak Moscow on Wednesday.

In the round of 16, teams can not be drawn against sides who they faced in the group stages.

Since the Champions League reverted back to a one group stage format for the 2003-04 season, the Premier League has been allocated four Champions League places, but only on six occasions in the previous 14 years has a full complement of English teams succeeded in qualifying for the next stage. "I want to play every game", Azpilicueta said with a smile after Chelsea's 1-1 Champions League draw with Atletico Madrid.

Accordingly, both the sides are aware of the club they could potentially be up against in the final 16.

On the other hand, Italy's A.S. Roma has advanced to the round of 16 as group winners along with Paris St-Germain, despite their 1-3 defeat in Munich.

Liverpool (if top): Bayern Munich, Juventus, Basel, Real Madrid, Shakhtar Donetsk, Napoli, Porto or RB Leipzig.

Mbappe netted six times last season while playing for 2016-17 Champions League semi-finalists Monaco and has proceeded to add four to his total this season after his move to PSG.
