Matt Lauer is 'broken and ashamed' following 'Today' firing

Lauer who is being accused of sexual harassment or assault allegations reportedly signed a $20 million dollar contract past year.

Lauer, 59, was sacked from NBC after 20 years as the "Today" show anchor.

He allegedly sexually harassed a female NBC staffer during the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, sources have told Page Six.

With embarrassing old clips, incriminating videos and numerous allegations of everything from sexual harassment to rape being waged against him, Lauer is reportedly ready to sail off into the sunset on a luxury golf course. "He plans to disappear and play golf", a source told the New York Post.

He released a public apology in which he stated that he has a lot of work to do now in order to try and fix the damage that he has caused his family and everyone else.

The Dutch-born mother-of-three was spotted not wearing her wedding ring as she dropped off her children at school.

Most of the employees working in the Rockefeller Center are heartbroken due to the sexual misconduct allegations made against Lauer, and to know about the difference in personalities between the man they know and the Lauer his accusers portrayed. Roque did file for divorce from Lauer back in 2006 but it was later called off after the couple seemed to work out their differences. "As I am writing this I realize the depth of the damage and disappointment I have left behind at home and at NBC", he said in a statement.

Lauer apologized in a statement Thursday, but said that some of the accusations are "untrue". "I regret that my shame is now shared by the people I cherish dearly".

He added, "Repairing the damage will take a lot of time and soul searching, and I'm committed to beginning that effort". It is now my full time job.

Reps for I, Tonya did not comment on whether they had considered removing Lauer from the film in a fashion similar to that of All the Money in the World, in which Kevin Spacey was replaced by Christopher Plummer. It's been humbling. I am blessed to be surrounded by the people I love.
