Sorry South Florida Dead Heads! Your Dead & Company show is postponed

John Mayer took to Twitter on Wednesday (Dec. 6), thanking fans for all their love and support one day after he was hospitalized for an emergency appendectomy. "Had surgery yesterday and woke up to see some amazingly kind and loving tweets". This band and these shows mean the world to me.

The "Your Body Is a Wonderland" singer was rushed to the hospital Tuesday for an appendectomy and is now recovering, according to his spokeswoman, Anna Loynes. With a 1-3 week recovery period, Dead & Company are forced to postpone the remaining two shows of 2017, which were scheduled for Amway Center in Orlando, FL on December 7 and the BB&T Center in Sunrise, FL on December 8.

The show, which was set for December 12 at the Masonic in San Francisco, will be rescheduled for January or February.

Ok, first thing's first: Everyone in Dead & Company is still alive. "John wants to reschedule for a new date as soon as possible, and we'll let you know as soon as the new date is confirmed". The band, which consists of former Grateful Dead members and new members including Mayer, was set to wrap up its fall tour on Friday in Florida. All tickets for the December 5 show will be honored for the rescheduled date. Ticketholders can also seek a refund at point of purchase.
