Tre'Davious White responds to Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski's late hit

Buffalo Bills cornerback Tre'Davious White cleared concussion protocol on Thursday and spoke with reporters for the first time since absorbing a crushing blow to the back of the head from Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski.

White added that he has not heard from Gronkowski since the hit, and that his apology following Sunday's game means nothing to him.

"I definitely want to apologise to [White]", he said via NBC Sports Boston. White lay near the New England sideline after intercepting a Tom Brady pass. Gronkowski led with his forearm and struck White in the back of the helmet.

Gronkowski, a Buffalo-area native, received an unnecessary roughness penalty on the play and a one-game suspension from the National Football League that will force him to miss the Pats' Week 14 road game against the Miami Dolphins on Monday night.

White was dazed and immediately evaluated for a concussion. I bit my lip pretty bad. He could have broke my neck.

White called Gronkowski's one-game suspension "a joke". "Awful headache. It is what it is". I've got a son to raise. People don't think about that when they react, but that's here or there.

"I'm glad I had my mouthpiece in", White said.

The play in question happened late in the New England Patriots' 23-3 win over the Bills on Sunday. "Once we get back to that week where we play [the Patriots]", we'll see what happens".

"I'm focused on the Colts [this Sunday]", he said.
