TVS Motor launches 'TVS Apache RR 310'

Two-wheeler major TVS Motor Company has entered into the super premium motorcycle by launching the TVS Apache RR 310- a 310 cc super-premium bike that the company has jointly developed with BMW Motorrad.

Launched at a price of ₹ 2.05 lakh (ex-showroom), the bike had been in development since two years and it shares its underpinnings with the BMW G 310 R thanks to the collaboration between TVS and BMW Motorrad. The TVS Apache RR 310 sports a fully-faired, sporty design while it comes with several exorbitant features.

Conceding that the more than three decades of learning from the race track had immensely benefited TVS Motor in its entry into the super-premium space, Mr. Venu expressed optimism that the new offering would go a long way in beefing up its market position in the segment. Spearheading the super-premium foray, the young JMD was confident that "Customers will find it [TVS Apache RR 310] to be a ideal combination of race-craft technology and riding dynamics", he added. The TVS Apache RR 310 contended with any semblance of the Kawasaki Ninja 300, KTM RC 390, Benelli 302R and the Yamaha R3 which will be re-launched soon. TVS Apache RR 310 is another step in our effort to deliver beyond customers' expectations and offering them a chance to upgrade from premium to super-premium category. The all new Apache RR 310 will surely create a benchmark in the market.

The motorcycle uses a reverse inclined DOHC (double overhead cam) engine with LCOC (liquid-cooled oil coolant) technology. The motorcycle boasts of a top speed of 160kmph, and acceleration from 0-60kmph in just 2.9 seconds.

The TVS Apache RR 310 is equipped with a race-inspired vertical speedo-cum-tachometer with 18 racing tell-tale diagnostics, and a comprehensive post-ride analysis. Michelin Street Sport tyres measuring 110/70 R17 front and 150/60 R17 rear are offered on the Apache RR 310. "The Apache RR310 is our first foray into the super premium segment", he said. The Thermal Management System on the motorcycle is fitted with a special gill profile to shield the rider's leg from engine heat, and aids better heat dissipation. The motorcycle comes in two colours - Racing Red and Sinister Black.

According to Radhakrishnan, the premium motorcycle segment accounts for 14% (bikes in the 150cc to 500cc) of the total motorcycle category in the country and is growing at 10% every year.
