Ubisoft Delays Three Games

Ubisoft Delays Three Games

Ubisoft announced today that it will be delaying three 2018 games: Far Cry 5, The Crew 2, and a third unannounced franchise game. That fact that they say that the next installment of the Far Cry series is the most ambitious yet is also a very good sign, we can't wait to see more! This means that The Crew 2 will release prior to September 2018.

We imagine the Far Cry 5delay will allow the development team to smooth out some of the later development stage issues like framerate and minor bugs.

The new launch date for Far Cry 5 is March 27, 2018. Sound off in the comments and let us know!

Ubisoft executive Christine Burgess-Quémard said in a statement it will be investing "additional development time" in those games, as it needed more time to develop the recently released Assassin's Creed's Origins.

In addition to The Crew 2 and Skull & Bones, for the fiscal year 2018-2019 Ubisoft plans to launch 2 AAA production games not yet announced.

The reason for these three delays is due to the commercial success Ubisoft saw commercially with Assassin's Creed Origins following its longer development time, which "enabled [their] development team to fully express their creative vision". "Taking a similar approach, we have chose to invest additional development time in three upcoming games", said Christine Burgess-Quémard, Ubisoft's Worldwide Studios Executive Director. If the company was on track for a February release, these last 30 days can be used for finishing touches. You can check out the most recent trailer for it down below.
