76ers Trade Jahlil Okafor, Nik Stauskas To Nets

The Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to trade Jahlil Okafor to the Brooklyn Nets, according to ESPN's Zach Lowe and Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Nets will send forward Trevor Booker to the 76ers for Okafor, guard Nik Stauskas and a 2019 second-round pick from the New York Knicks, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

The Nets have now acquired two of the top-3 picks of the 2015 draft in Okafor and D'Angelo Russell.

Okafor publicly requested a trade or buyout on November 1 and the team declined his $6.3 million team option. Okafor, meanwhile, has been cast aside, a casualty of a process that has moved on without him.

The Boston Celtics were nearly always mentioned in rumored deals for Okafor (then again, which rumors weren't they mentioned in the last few years?), and in a way, Thursday's trade will likely make Boston fans smile just a little bit. "I've done everything they've asked of me and I would just like to get an opportunity to play with a trade or a buyout". I just hope something happens quickly.

After averaging 17.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game as a rookie while starting 48 of the 53 games he played in, he was demoted to a bench role behind Joel Embiid last season.

Stauskas, who joined the Sixers in 2015 in a trade from Sacramento, is averaging less than 1 point per game.
