Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle adds Versus Mode to its repertoire

The critically-acclaimed game receives a free update - a new local Versus mode where two players will use their tactical skills to play against each other on the same screen (sharing a pair of Joy-Con™ controllers or using the Nintendo Switch™ Pro Controllers) to fight on unique and evolving battlefields.

In the main campaign for Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, players will form a team of three unique characters, customizing their abilities via each character's dedicated skill tree to form the flawless trio.

Unlike standard gameplay modes, each player is only given three actions per turn. Nintendo's 2017 midas touch has also extended to an odd 3rd party collaboration with Ubisoft on Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is already available on Nintendo Switch. Matches can be limited to seven or ten turns if you want a quicker experience and you can even set short, medium, or long time limits on each turn.

The surprisingly excellent Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle may be getting more paid DLC early next year, but rather than being contented with that developer Ubisoft has today announced its intention to bring local versus multiplayer to the game in a free bonus update tomorrow.

Players will also be able to select either all-Rabbid or all-Mushroom Kingdom-based teams, unlike in the main game where players had to have Mario and at least one Rabbid on their team at all times.

Interestingly, the mode disables the characters and builds you've unlocked and created in the main game, instead forcing you to pick from a number of pre-set builds for each fighter.
