Superhot standalone expansion Mind Control Delete out tomorrow on Steam Early Access

Superhot Team have announced that their smash hit first person shooter Superhot is getting its own standalone expansion, titled Mind Control Delete, which is entering Steam Early Access today.

Superhot is quite a good game with its main draw being that time, and therefore enemies and bullets, will only move when you do which allows you to assess situations. As you unlock powerful abilities and gain access to new playable characters, so will your enemies grow stronger, smarter and more desperate to stop you. To counter your own powers, the enemies you face will become more hard, as well, and they become "more desperate to stop you".

The expansion looks to build on the foundations of the original Superhot by adding roguelike elements, such as random challenges and enemies, along with new playable characters. As revealed in the trailer, it will also be free for current SUPERHOT owners "when it's done". Mind Control Delete will be cheaper during the Early Access phase, then around the same price as Superhot - £18 - upon launch.

"The single most important strength of the original Superhot was the wonderful involvement of tens of thousands of creative alpha and beta testers that helped us shape and balance the game and drove us to pursue zero compromises in design", the studio said on its Steam page.

The developers are warning that Mind, Control, Delete is still very early in development and that those expecting a polished, full-fledged expansion should simply wait until it is out of Early Access.

There's been no word yet on whether or not Mind Control Delete will find its way to consoles in the future, but we're crossing our fingers just in case.
