World War Z is becoming a video game

There's no telling when or if video games will ever be taken as seriously as film or television, but The Game Awards is the first video game awards show that actually treats games with some degree of reverence.

The Game Awards will be debuting new trailers for upcoming games with plenty of surprise titles being announced for the first time. Not much has been revealed about what the title save for the trailer below and that it is "coming soon".

World War Z the video game is based on the famous novel series World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War written by Max Brooks and released in 2006.

"World War Z is a name synonymous with heart-pounding fear and action, and we're excited to finally capture that energy in a fast-paced and gruesome experience crafted specifically for modern consoles and PC", said Saber Interactive CEO Matt Karch.

It's now set for the PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One, and is being developed by Saber Interactive (NBA Playgrounds, Quake Champions). Actually, "deals" is a bit of a strong word, as numerous listings simply offer hit games like Nier: Automata for the same price that you'd find them in a brick-and-mortar store.
