Liverpool Draw Porto in Champions League Round of 16

Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde concedes getting Chelsea is a "hard draw" in the Champions League.

Manchester United were paired with Spanish side Sevilla.

Michael Owen is tipping Chelsea to get back to winning ways in the Premier League by beating Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night.

Five English clubs progressed to the last 16 and it's Chelsea who have the toughest fixture in the first knockout round after being drawn against Barcelona.

Paris Saint-Germain chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi has said that his club will relish the task of taking on Real Madrid in the last-16 stage of the Champions League. The return leg will be at Anfield in March, either the 6th or 7th, or the 13th or 14th.

Chelsea winger, Eden Hazard, claimed he would welcome a clash with Barcelona just last week, however when he sees the other matches to come - he may think otherwise. Manchester City, meanwhile, will play Basel, and Tottenham have been handed a very challenging draw against 2017 finalists Juventus.

The Blues have won the Premier League in two of the last three seasons.

While Real's La Liga rivals Barcelona were drawn against Chelsea, Manchester City play Basel. The borderline-boring group stage may be an unfortunate side effect of the growing disparity between Europe's true elite and the rest of the clubs that make up the Champions League, but it does make for primo matchups as early as the Round of 16 as well.

"This league is not simple, and we have to fight to find a place in the Champions League".
