Arsene Wenger plans Alexis Sanchez exit in January

Arsene Wenger plans Alexis Sanchez exit in January

Arsene Wenger insists Arsenal have not received any January transfer offers for either Mesut Ozil or Alexis Sanchez, and suggested the club are not interested in signing David Luiz.

Guardiola, who worked with Sanchez at Barcelona, was close to reuniting with him a year ago as City made a move to sign him before the end of the summer transfer window. "But when? That is very hard to say because it does not depend only on us". When you are as close as that, it's impossible to play football.

Ok, so Wenger didn't say "I could have another you in a minute, matter of fact, he'll be here in a minute..."

West Brom boss Alan Pardew admits Arsenal got a tough break when his team benefitted from a soft penalty call to earn a 1-1 draw at the Hawthorns on Sunday.

"We focus on our own problems and that is the only important thing".

Wenger said the awarding of the penalty was "difficult to accept", and complained about the standard of refereeing.

He wrote in the Arsenal match day programme: "Obviously, they are important - they are two big players".

If Manchester City decide that Gabriel Jesus's knee ligament injury means that they need a replacement up front, then Sanchez could very well be in his final days as an Arsenal player. "Come back to me when that happens".

When asked about Luiz, Wenger added: "I do not want to speak about any names, but these reports are wrong". We have to live with the decision, to deal with it and to swallow it and go to the next game. "I have spoken many times about that and I am not ready to talk about it any more". But when Arsenal start to play without them - perhaps even against Chelsea on Wednesday - they may well find that they can play a more unified, aggressive game. "A 2-2 draw against Arsenal at Emirates could be a good result but after the game there is a lot of disappointment because we created important chances".
