Australia announce Chris Lynn's replacement for ODI series against England

The five-game ODI series will be played between 14th and 28th January with Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth being the venues.

Lynn injured his calf nearly immediately after being selected for the ODI series, with Maxwell the hot tip to replace him after good form with the bat in the Sheffield Shield and the Big Bash League.

"He's one of the smartest players in Australian cricket, worldwide cricket", Stoinis said.

"It's no wonder why he is so good and I'm stoked for him to get back in one day colours". Steve Smith, the Australian captain, previously stated that Maxwell's training habits was not up to an worldwide standard and contributed to his axing.

"He's one of the leading run-scorers in this season's BBL, he's experienced, he's a very smart cricketer and he's a good fielder". "Now it sort of seems like the Australian team at some stages is a development team. He ticks all the boxes for what we need at this stage". You'd have to ask the selectors, I couldn't tell you. I'm not against young players playing at all, but I'm just not sure about bringing people into the Australian team to develop.

"I don't know what that means for Glenn in terms of selection going forward".

Hohns hit back, describing White's worldwide career as "nothing earth-shattering". "Maybe it is a little ironic, (although) I'd like to think that my one-day cricket for Victoria hasn't hurt my chances of getting this opportunity", he added. Six years ago, pre-season, he sent me a message every morning saying, 'What are we doing this morning?

"In the back of my mind I probably never gave up all hope".

White suggested at the time that the Australian side was being treated as a "development team" with Hohns hitting back, describing White's worldwide career as "nothing earth-shattering".

Glenn Maxwell, who was rumoured to be in the running despite being left out of the initial squad, was overlooked once again.
