Bills' McCoy in starting lineup for playoff game at Jaguars

Bills' McCoy in starting lineup for playoff game at Jaguars

But Simpson apparently is all-in on his former team as it takes on the Jacksonville Jaguars in Sunday's AFC Wild Card Round game.

Despite exceeding expectations by making the playoffs for the first time in 18 years, the Buffalo Bills lamented missed opportunities in their 10-3 loss to the Jaguars in an AFC wild-card game on Sunday. Nate Peterman came in the game on a fourth-and-3 and he rushed for four yards for a first down.

Bortles was off most of the day, misfiring short and long, but made up for it with 88 yards rushing. He was taken by Jacksonville with the 114th pick.

Tyrod Taylor left the game late in the fourth-quarter because of a concussion.

The key to success for the Jaguars will be to score early and avoid the multitude of three-and-out drives that transpired against the Bills. "We have to do better". The only drive that didn't end in a punt was the final drive of the game, a series that ended with a Nathan Peterman interception (fitting, isn't it?).

Tyrod Taylor completed 17 of 37 passes for 134 yards, with an interception, against the NFL's best pass defense.

We have no idea what was said to Hyde, or if anything was thrown at him (CBS' cameras didn't catch what caused the water spray), but Tony Romo and Jim Nantz both commented on it when it happened. We know how tough we are as a defense. The second run was a scramble to the left for 20 yards to the Bills 12-yard-line.

21 INT in 16 games in '17 (seven INT in '16). LeSean McCoy is the heart and soul of this Bills offense.

Although the Jaguars celebrated winning their first home playoff game since 1999, there is lingering anxiety about what lies ahead with Bortles. The scoring drive was led by a handful of big Bortles' runs before he capped the drive off with his lone TD pass of the game.

Blake Bortles stood at a podium after Sunday's 10-3 win over the Bills and was asked about the last time he had more rushing yards than passing yards in a game.

The Bills also have two second-round selections, including one acquired from the Los Angeles Rams in a deal that sent receiver Sammy Watkins for cornerback E.J.

Stephen Hauschka's 31-yard field goal gave the Bills a 3-0 lead.

"His mobility is a factor in the game whether it's by design, which they have several things to keep you off balance on first and second down", Tomlin said. "It's won or lost on the scoreboard".

It was an unacceptable sequence for the Bills, and, fair or not, Taylor will probably pay the price by being traded or released this offseason. The draft may not be the only way the Bills address the quarterback situation. The Jags had a measly 230 yards, the team's third-fewest total of the season.

What happens when both quarterbacks in an National Football League playoff game stink to high heaven as passers?

Buffalo - who suffered the longest barren spell without post-season action across all four major sports in the U.S. before this season - had not featured in the play-offs since losing 22-16 at this stage in 1999, and had not reached the Divisional Round since 1995.

If Taylor is healthy I think he is better than Bortles because Bortles has proven during his career to be a turnover machine.
