HTC U11 EYEs leaks in full, Snapdragon 652 confirmed

The rumor mill had speculated that the Ocean Harmony will launch in December as HTC U11 EYEs. As per a teaser posted on the company's Facebook page, it will be announcing the phone on January 15.

This clearly indicates the upcoming U11 EYEs will sport dual cameras.

Taiwanese smartphone company HTC announced the launch of the new phone HTC U11 Eyes in Taipei, Hong Kong, and Beijing on January 15. The offerings from company fail to impress media and users across the globe. There's no word yet if HTC plans on selling the device in other regions. Trying to compete with the smartphone giants by releasing flagships is much more risky than pushing out some mid-range devices.

The "EYE" isn't odd to HTC users. A few days after that the device was also reported to have passed China's 3C certification. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 652 with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage with an option for microSD expansion. It's not a high-end chip by any means, but it's definitely enough for all but the most intensive tasks. This is also why the display is taller and is sporting the 18:9 aspect ratio.

Like the other HTC U series phones from the company, the U11 EYEs will be lacking a 3.5mm audio jack.

The leaked images have revealed that the device will come with a dual camera setup at the front and a single camera with a dual LED flash at the back. They also show slim bezels all around and a fingerprint scanner on the back. Additionally, a second variant is also expected to be launched at the event. Both versions of the phone will run Android Nougat, but the higher-end model should perform slightly better. In terms of specs, the HTC U11 EYEs isn't a particularly powerful handset.
