Miles Bridges Selected to Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 List

Bridges was named the Big Ten Preseason Player of the Year and was a unanimous selection to the preseason All-Big Ten team.

Maten has scored in double figures in 14 of the Bulldogs' 15 games, with seven 20-point outputs and seven double-doubles. She is one Player of the Week award away from tying Ohio State's Jantel Lavender for the most Player of the Week awards in a single season (6, 2010-11). The sophomore has score double-figures in all 10 games played and has set new career highs in both rebounds and assists with nine apiece. Young is the fourth player in recorded college basketball history to register 22 assists and the first since Sherman Douglas of Syracuse in 1989.

Berry, meanwhile, was expected to have a big impact this year after winning the Final Four's Most Outstanding Player honor during the Tar Heels' run to the NCAA Championship last season. Young has been named the Big 12 Player of the Week on November 13, Nov. 27, December 18, Dec. 27 and January 1.

OR sophomore point guard Sabrina Ionescu is one of 25 players who remain in contention for the John R. Wooden Award, given to women's college basketball's top player. Former Sooner players Blake Griffin and Buddy Hield won the award in 2009 and 2016, respectively.

Voting will open prior to the start of the NCAA Tournament and will allow voters to take into consideration performance during early round games. The country's leading scorer and assists man, Oklahoma's Trae Young headlines the list, while Duke's Grayson Allen, and Villanova's Jalen Brunson among others, are all there.
