Nintendo Direct Mini to Launch Lots of Games for Switch

This is the first time that a story mode has been included in a Mario Tennis game since the Game Boy Color title.

Pokken Tournament DX Deluxe Battle Pack Nintendo announced Pokken Tournament DX DLC, The Deluxe Battle Pack, at the event that will bring new characters to the game. Otherwise, the Switch version also delivers two player local multiplayer, 1080p visuals in TV mode (no word on portable resolution) and all the paid DLC.

The first wave of content will drop on January 31, which will include support set Mega Rayquaza and Mimikyu and a new battle character, Aegislash.

This game, like several other Switch games, was originally a Wii U title. Mario Tennis Aces will be out this Spring.

The Mario Tennis games have always been a fixture on Nintendo consoles, with the Game Boy Color, N64 and GBA titles arguably the best ones in the franchise.

Kirby Star Allies Nintendo showed off some new footage of Kirby Star Allies at Nintendo Direct Mini showcasing some new abilities. Co-op friends can also combine their abilities to produce new effects. A new exclusive character will be added to the game for the Switch: Joy, a "Japanese computer whiz".

There are free demos available on the Nintendo eShop for Kirby Battle Royale and Dragon Quest Builders.

Cooperative heist shooter Payday 2 is coming to Nintendo Switch, adding HD rumble and touchscreen controls.

Super Mario Odyssey will be getting a free update next month. There are two modes; "hide it" and "find it".
