Wage demands stalling Newcastle loan move for Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge

With the knowledge that Inter boss Luciano Spalletti is looking to bring someone to San Siro to relieve some of the pressure off of Mauri Icardi, Sturridge has reportedly offered his services to the Nerazzurri on a short-term loan deal, according to Tuttosport (via the Daily Mail).

Either way, it's a story that's floating around, and Corriere dello Sport have a bit more information on it, explaining that Sturridge would like a loan, which is something Liverpool aren't interested in.

However, he has seen his place in the pecking order fall due to consistent injury problems over the years. However, even when has been fit, manager Jurgen Klopp has preferred Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, and Mohammed Salah over him.

Liverpool are finally willing to sell Daniel Sturridge - but only for £30 million.

And the Italian outlet claim Sturridge - who has scored three goals in just 14 appearances in all competitions this term - has sounded out the club over a temporary six-month deal at the San Siro.

"We are working hard to be ready [for incoming transfer deals], but at the moment, I don't know", Benitez said at the club's last press conference.

Meanwhile, Sturridge has also been linked with a loan move to Southampton, with the Saints reported to have been the frontrunners for his signature back in December.

Sturridge has had success at the Merseyside club, scoring 63 goals in his four year stint, however the England international's form has dropped - only finding the net three times this term.
