3 takeaways from huge win against San Antonio Spurs

3 takeaways from huge win against San Antonio Spurs

As many waves as LaVar Ball's comments about Luke Walton have made in the media, they reportedly have had little (if any) impact on the Los Angeles Lakers' brass. Should Lonzo Ball solidify things at guard, the team may be on the rise in future seasons. But I think I totally get conceptually where Magic was coming from and the style of play that Luke [Walton] is promoting, the fast-paced game.

Building a system and culture is really hard.

The former Indiana Pacers star and current TNT analyst wants Lakers president Magic Johnson to lay the smack down (figuratively, though I can't say I would mind seeing the literal interpretation either) on LaVar for his distracting the team. "Luke walton is a terrific young coach who's bringing along a young team. When Magic is in the room, that is a major asset trying to recruit". The Spurs have fallen off the pace recently as their injury toll continues to grow but they're still more than good enough to get the win with the players they have left. The two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year was injured Friday during a victory against the Phoenix Suns.

Golden State Warriors' Steve Kerr is the latest National Basketball Association coach to speak up against the attention that sports media outlets are giving to LaVar Ball. "Luke is an outstanding coach, a young coach with a young team".

Windhorst added: "And there are now guys out there wondering openly to me-executives, coaches, agents-who the Lakers are going to hire as their next coach". Sadly, that is the Lakers' record for their longest win streak of the season. "For a player who only had one year in college, his ability to come in as a driver right away, then they took that away, he shoots the outside jumper".

"I'm not meeting with their announcing crew before the game, I'm not doing the in-game interview", Van Gundy said.
