Elton John Shares His Thoughts on Camila Cabello

Whether it's singing about heartbreak (a favorite among pop singers venturing out on their own for the first time), the fake friendships that surround her, or bringing up her Hispanic heritage on a global smash, Cabello clearly took the time to think about every word on her album.

Cabello told The New York Times that things started to fall apart as far back as 2015, when she collaborated with Shawn Mendes on their hit song "I Know What You Did Last Summer".

"I just think she's going to have an fantastic year, cause she's ... just so much fun", Elton said.

Camila claims the solo project caused tension in the group and when she asked to help write lyrics for Fifth Harmony songs after that, she was rebuffed. I was just like, 'What?

"It definitely hurt my feelings", Cabello told NYT as she welled up with tears. "I don't like holding onto the past, especially when it's stuff that, in my opinion, is just petty".

The Cuba native's fans known as "camilizers" have been giving much love to the new album on Twitter where Camila was trending Friday. Reportedly hitting No. 1 in more than 100 countries - including the U.S., Canada, the Philippines, Japan, Brazil and the U.K. - Cabello broke the record for earning the most iTunes No. 1 positions for a female artist's debut album.
