How this Alabama game-time gamble paid off

How this Alabama game-time gamble paid off

"That was the fifth time we've gotten to be on the field with Jeremy after winning a national championship game", Dale Pruitt said.

What was Saban thinking as the winning pass soared this time?

And while much of the focus may fall on Alabama head coach Nick Saban's gutsy decision to bring in true freshman quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in the second half, he wasn't the only true freshman asked to step on the field in the team's biggest moment. The call on the field was that Georgia was offsides, though it's clear two Alabama players actually moved before the snap. He chose to bench his starting quarterback, Jalen Hurts, entering the second half of the College Football Playoff National Championship Game. The game went to overtime thanks to Alabama's place-kicker. On Wednesday, wide receiver Calvin Ridley became the first Alabama player to officially declare for the draft.

For some observers of the Crimson Tide, the fact that Alabama was even in contention for the title was a come from behind victory in and of itself. By the looks of things, there are no signs of slowing down. "I could tell which side was the Alabama side".

Georgia freshman quarterback Jake Fromm was 16 of 32 for 232 yards and a touchdown, throwing two interceptions to Tagovailoa's one.

There will be many eyes on Alabama and MSU through the spring and into the summer months to see how Saban and Joe Moorhead handle their quarterbacks. On Monday night, it was a change at quarterback that sparked Alabama's latest title. One of his throws was a quick swing pass that Najee Harris took 22 yards after the ball traveled just a few feet in the air; outside that play, Hurts threw for a mere 4.3 yards per pass. "Not knowing whether or not we'd be in the College Football Playoffs, or be fortunate enough to give these guys a run for their money". He also darted away from pass rushers and made some impeccable throws, showing poise of a veteran. Auburn beat both Alabama and Georgia in season play, but wasn't a contender for the championship.

He didn't allow his instant stardom to gradually overcome him during the night with self-glory after the game, and regarding his belief that God put him there in that spotlight, he continued all night to begin interviews with glory to God first. ABC's "World News Tonight" averaged 10.3 million viewers last week, NBC's "Nightly News" had 10.1 million and the "CBS Evening News" had 7.5 million. It felt like it was a ten minute drive, which it wasn't. I think the resiliency this team has shown all year long certainly proves that they sort of learned something from that.

Pruitt said the last month has been stressful for Jeremy, who became Tennessee's head coach December 7. That summed up the Tigers twenty four to six loss to the Crimson Tide... "And you have to be able to run the ball effectively, and take care of the ball, and we didn't do those things tonight". He would need to improve as you don't give a team like Alabama 2nd and 3rd opportunities.

Observers of the Tide say the team looked angry.

"You don't remember the wins, you remember the losses", he said.

"I pursue a relationship with Christ through spending quality time with Him", he said. We laid a licking on Florida like the Gators haven't experienced in years, and got their coach fired. We wanted to learn from it.

"They played against each other Monday night and today they're on the same team going in the same direction, so it's a unusual profession", Dale Pruitt said.
