Kell Brook tells Amir Khan how to make their fight happen

Kell Brook tells Amir Khan how to make their fight happen

The former unified light-welterweight world champion has not fought since stepping up to middleweight to do battle with Saul "Canelo" Alvarez in May 2016, but will resume his career nearly two years later. "Away from the fun and games from some of the best TV viewing we've seen in recent years on 'I'm a Celebrity, ' the desire is to win titles". "It will probably bring the best out of him and we will give something back to the fans for helping us throughout our careers". I saw that I have two or three prime years left in what I want to do most of all, that I'm a 31-year-old man now not a kid'.

Khan's decision to sign with Hearn comes as a surprise, with the former two-weight world champion previously making public his dislike of Hearn, as he attempted to force through an all-British grudge match against Kell Brook, also promoted by Matchroom.

Khan said: "I'm thrilled to be teaming up with Matchroom".

"The plan is to box in April and then again in August or September in preparation for a super fight in Winter 2018".

The former unified light-welterweight champion is to fight for the first time in the United Kingdom for five years when he takes on an unnamed opponent at the Liverpool Echo Arena on April 21st. I just don't like Eddie Hearn.

"I would just love to test myself against him".

A fight between the pair has always been touted, however, never came to fruition as the two boxers camps could not agree terms.

"I'm determined to win another world championship and I'm confident I've got the right team behind me to help me do so".

Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn and Khan have been at each other's throats for the past few years in one of Britain's most bitter boxing feuds.

"Pacquiao, Garcia and Peterson are what we are looking at, but when Eddie and I spoke we talked about Kell Brook being the target", he added.

"I've been out of the ring for too long, and I'm desperate to make up for lost time, starting in April", he said.

It will also be five years since Khan last fought in the United Kingdom, and since then Hearn has repeatedly tempted to lure him into a fight with rival Kell Brook, contributing to the tension between them.

With Brook now operating at 154 and set for a debut at the higher limit on March 3, any United Kingdom super-fight would potentially be held up by Khan's plans at 147 pounds. And April 21 is going to be a lot of fun.
