Loyal Dog Walks 40 Miles to Find Previous Owners

Cathleen, a Great Pyrenees mix, had been given up after her family in Seminole County, Oklahoma, US, moved home and didn't have the space to look after her anymore, US television station KCCI reported. "Her heart wants to be with them", the shelter posted, saying that the family loved her "very much" but couldn't keep her.

A dog in Oklahoma has gone viral after she tried to walk back to the family twice that gave her away after they couldn't care for her anymore.

"Her heart wants to be with them but they can not keep her".

She has since been rehomed in the shelter in a bid to find her new owners. "We have now stepped in to assist Cathleen on her next journey". "She wants to be everyone's friend".

It described Cathleen as a calm dog who's "humble, kind and passive" and "wouldn't hurt a fly". Seminole Animal Shelter Treasurer Marta Mattingly said the organization had reached out to them and would post on Facebook if the family agreed.

The adoption fee is just $25. 'We are working hard on just the ideal, secure place'. She traveled to Seminole on foot, was taken back to Prague, and then walked to the city again.

Since sharing Cathleen's story, the shelter says they have received several applications from potential adopters, and hope to make a decision soon. Acker said the Prague owners eventually gave her up because they couldn't control her wanderings.
