Ridley Scott's drama about the Getty kidnapping was hastily reshot after allegations of sexual misconduct were made against Kevin Spacey, who previously starred as billionaire J. Paul Getty.

Another source said that Wahlberg's lawyer formally vetoed Plummer's casting until the financiers met the actor's demand for additional payment.

"What he said was, 'I will not approve Christopher Plummer unless you pay me", a source told USA Today.

Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Williams attend the premiere of Sony Pictures Entertainment's "All The Money In The World" at Samuel Goldwyn Theater on December 18, 2017 in Beverly Hills, California. According to TMZ's report, the Transformers alum also agreed to redo the scenes with Williams and Spacey's replacement, Christopher Plummer, but he and Scott did not discuss his compensation at the time.

Earlier reports from The Wrap claimed the disparity existed because reshoots weren't included in Wahlberg's contract, giving him room to negotiate more pay for his extra time, but the USA Today source disputes these claims, saying that both stars had reshoots in their contracts.

Before the reports of Wahlberg's salary got out, Williams said the following of All the Money in the World reshoots to USA Today: "I said I'd be wherever they needed me, whenever they needed me. She deserves more than 1% of her male costar's salary", Chastain added. "She's a brilliant Oscar nominated, Golden Globe winning actress".

"I said I'd be wherever they needed me, whenever they needed me", Williams told USA Today.

Wahlberg's reps and his talent agency, William Morris Endeavor, did not comment on the story. He added: "They all came in free".

Williams, meanwhile, could be looking at her fifth Academy Award nod for her work in the film when the honorees are announced next week.

This just sheds so much light on how these costars ended up getting paid so differently - but we have yet to hear directly from either actor about the massive gap.
