Person in custody following Greyhound bus pursuit

About 40 passengers were safely removed from the bus around 12:30 a.m, police said.

Police say the situation started after they received a report of a disorderly and possibly armed suspect aboard the bus in Wisconsin near the IL border. The caller said a man was acting insane, claimed he had a gun and threatened passengers. Greyhound said in a statement that the incident began around 9:50 p.m. CT. The police pursuit started and then crossed into IL.

Our sister station WMAQ-TV in Chicago reports that there was a pursuit of a bus in Wisconsin, and troopers responded once it crossed into IL. That's what it boils down to.

Greyhound officials say they are working to get a relief bus to the scene to pick up passengers and take them to Chicago. No one was injured on board the bus.

Traffic was closed in both directiions on the interstate while police continue to investigate, the Daily Herald reported.
