Rafa Benitez says Newcastle talking with agents over transfers

Rafa Benitez says Newcastle talking with agents over transfers

"We can not sell players that are playing because we would need to replace them with better players and in January, it takes a lot of money to convince them to come here". "If I am waiting for players to come, and it is very hard to bring the players that you want, then you can not sell the players that are already playing and - more or less - doing well. A massive game for them, a massive game for us".

"We have to think we will do something before January 31", said Benitez. Players who are not playing and everybody knows about, maybe they would be available.

'If someone would come and could buy, then we would have extra money to go to the market.

"And we're not planning to sell anyone who we consider can make a difference to the team".

Benitez spoke to Ashley - who returned from a holiday in the U.S. this week - last month. Can we add before the end of the window?

Newcastle have been in discussions with Chelsea about a loan deal for winger Kenedy.

"I thought we could sign a player this week, but we couldn't do it, so it is more or less the same".

"The team against Watford, Tottenham and Wolves played like I want at that moment", new Swans boss Carlos Carvalhal said about his first three games in charge. My belief is that we will do what we have to do. "We will try to do our best until the last day and believe we will do what we have to do". But if they talk about loans we are not interested because we need them.

"We are trying to move forward".

Rafa Benitez said back in December that ideally he wanted all new signings to be completed by 15 January and failing that, by 20 January at the very latest.

Ashley, however, would rather Benitez sold before he bought.

Benitez has discussed his ideas with Ashley and Charnley.

We also know he's unlikely to get what he wants. "It doesn't matter what happens (with the takeover)".
