Rahul to launch Karnataka campaign next month, CM confident of victory

Congress president Rahul Gandhi will pay a three-day visit to Karnataka from February 10-12 for the first leg of assembly election's campaign in the state.

On Saturday, the Congress president Rahul Gandhi called a meeting at New Delhi, and the leaders from the state including Siddaramaiah discussed the party's poll preparedness and the strategy to be adopted for the upcoming assembly polls. "He is very happy to know that all promises made to the people in the (last election) manifesto have been fulfilled", Siddaramaiah told reporters here. Siddaramaiah had recently alleged that BJP, RSS and Bajrang Dal have terrorists within their organisations.

Less than 24 hours after a complaint was filed by the BJP against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and KPCC Working President with the Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru, the BJP led by MP Shobha Karandlaje and other senior leaders protested at the Mysore Bank Circle courting arrest.

Another BJP MLA, BN Vijaya Kumar slammed the Congress saying, "They are dividing the nation on many issues and they are not nationalistic". "(Prime Minister) Narendra Modi may also raise the same issue because they have no issues there".

"Therefore, the chances of winning are very high and I am confident that the party will come back to power again", he said. I said I am also a Hindu but a humane Hindu.

Venugopal said senior leaders had assured the party president that they would work in "unity" and win the upcoming Karnataka polls. Hindu dharma means humane Hindu and not hatred.

Also, the video highlighted the 1002 cases of farmers' suicide in Karnataka in the current fiscal year, corruption cases against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Siddaramaiah's "Hindutva extremists" remark has stirred a hornet's nest in the poll-bound state.
