Remand for murder accused in Rihanna's cousin's case

Williams was remanded until January 31, according to Barbados Today.

Shawayne Dashawn Williams was not required to plead to the indictable offence when he appeared before Magistrate Douglas Fredericks in the District "A" Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

Rihanna spent Christmas Day with Alleyne and recalled the moment as she paid tribute to him on Instagram.

According to the local news outlet Barbados Today, 23-year-old Shawayne DaShawn Williams of St. Michael, Barbados was arrested and charged with the killing of Alleyne.

Earlier this month, Barbados Police said there had been a significant increase in gun-related crimes on the island compared to 2016.

Alleyne, 21, was shot on Boxing Day, around 7 p.m., as he was walking through a track in the vicinity of his home.

Alleyne was killed in the Barbadian capital of Bridgetown on December 26, after being approached by a man who shot him multiple times. Happy Birthday cousin, we really love you.

Alleyne was reportedly walking near his home on December 26 when a man shot him several times before fleeing the scene.

The Royal Barbados Police Force has made a breakthrough in relation to their investigations into the last murder of 2017.

Several of Rihanna's fans and friends sent their condolences after the post, offering prayers and support in her time of grief.

He was immediately taken to the nearby hospital in a private vehicle but before reaching the hospital, he died because of the injuries.
