SWEET: Immigration talks continue after Trump's head-spinning meeting

A U.S. judge on Wednesday blocked President Donald Trump from ending an Obama-era programme that protected from deportation migrants who entered America illegally as children. A federal judge in San Francisco has temporarily saved the program and it's giving Dreamers new hope.

Trump later tweeted Friday morning that he "Never said anything derogatory about Haitians other than Haiti is, obviously, a very poor and troubled country".

"Any solution has to include the wall because without the wall, it all doesn't work", Trump told reporters at the White House.

Trump repeatedly promised during the campaign that he would build a wall on the Southern US border and force Mexico to pay for it.

Marcelo Betti is an immigration lawyer in Traverse City who has worked with DACA recipients in northern MI.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced the decision to terminate the program on September 5 and said no renewal applications would be accepted after October 5.

"Hold up on that, because we need to see how USCIS will renew their procedure and if the administration is going to appeal and the likelihood is, yes", Aguayo stated.

The DACA program is about to run out for so-called "dreamers" or young immigrants who came to the US illegally as minors.

Sanders said in a statement released after the meeting that the president and lawmakers "reached an agreement to negotiate legislation that accomplishes critically needed reforms in four high-priority areas: border security, chain migration, the visa lottery, and the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals policy" during a closed-door session. "One day you're protected, and the next day you're not protected", says Gomez.

"Welcome back to the studio", Trump said to the pool reporters at the start of a cabinet meeting Wednesday in the White House. "We need the wall for stopping the flow of drugs coming in", Trump.

President Trump has indicated that he is willing to discuss some sort of solution for illegal aliens who were granted temporary legal status under President Obama's unilateral (and probably unconstitutional) DACA order.

Even if Flake's group crafted a deal with a border wall, it's unclear whether congressional Democrats would accept it. I want a merit based system of immigration and people who will help take our country to the next level. "He's said openly he wants to provide DACA relief, he said that as Homeland Security secretary".

It also aims to end the phenomenon of so-called "chain migration", which sees U.S. citizens and Green Card holders facilitate the entry of their family members to the country. "And I think they need to listen to those voices. You have to have people from the border to address the border". We are told they are getting multiple calls but for right now, there is not much they can do until this goes into full effect.
