She said: "Hi everyone, I would just like to ask everyone to stop spreading rumours that I'm dead because obviously I'm not. My lawyer is already working on this and this person who wants to spoil my happiness is going to pay for it!"

A string of media outlets picked up the story after the official Big Brother account posted a tribute to the star - but in a freaky twist, she was later confirmed to be alive.

'I've been through hell today because someone used by Twitter account to write that stupid status.

"I'm on holiday, I'm in Arabia, and I'm not dead".

Rebekah, 32, was best know for her stint in the 2009 series as Rodrigo Lopes before undergoing a sex change.

The transgender star also admitted that transition was emotionally exhausting and shared her advice.

Shelton began living as a woman in 2012, after successfully undergoing gender transition surgery in 2012.

She had told OK!

She later followed it up with a tweet which read: "Although it was a terrible experience to find out that I was dead, the positive thing is that I realise that I'm loved and so many people cared about me".

"At first you have to face yourself as it's not easy to be a different person, or what's considered different".

"It was a big step to go full time as a woman".

Last year, she said she was struggling to cope because she felt so isolated after turning to prostitution.

Rebekah said she spent five days in intensive care and one month in hospital having her surgeries.

"I saw that awful thing between my legs and I started crying around the hospital saying, 'I regret, I regret.' I wanted to kill myself because it was a nightmare".
