Dark Souls: Remastered and more games announced for Nintendo Switch


Donkey Kong's being added to the former and Luigi, along with a balloon-based racing mode, to the latter. This one includes split Joycon play, but it also comes with a whole new character that seems to be an easy mode in and of himself. They also announced that the game will be releasing on March 16th. June brought us ARMS, July featured Splatoon 2, August had Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, and Super Mario Odyssey landed in October.

The announcements included a mix of brand new games, as well as some DLC for existing titles. Wave 1, releasing on January 31 will introduce the new battle character Aegislash with the support set Mega Rayquaza and Mimikyu.

Accessing the new DLC characters for "Pokken Tournament DX" will require the purchase of the Deluxe Battle Pack, which is available now.

In the wake of a year that gave us the standout Switch and Xbox One X, things will slow down to a stop on the hardware front for console gamers in 2018.

How these issues will be resolved will fall largely into the wait-and-see category, but as the Switch appears to have strong third-party support, 2018 could be another banner year for Nintendo's hit console. And we'll be going even further back as 1980s computer Commodore 64 gets a mini version complete with built-in games. This game will come around 2018 and will have improved visuals and a kick-ass epilogue. The Dark Souls website has revealed that they're also releasing the Dark Souls Trilogy box set on May 24th. This is according to Head of Xbox Games Marketing Aaron Greenberg, who claims that not only did the Xbox One outsell the PS4 in December 2017, but the console enjoyed its highest-ever sales for any December ever. In addition to a new chapter of the Mario Tennis series, it's also releasing action RPG The World Ends with You: Final Remix, JRPG Ys VIII, fighting game SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy, and Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze.
