Dark Souls: Remastered Announced, Coming May 25

It's been a rollercoaster couple of days for Nintendo fans who have been waiting to hear confirmation or denial of a hotly rumored Nintendo Direct stream. Numerous fans have required a remake of this game. However, Nintendo simply chose to fan the flames and post the tweet embedded below. Rumours also suggest that both Dark Souls 2 and 3 will head to Switch sometime after that, so it's a good time to praise the sun.

A Nintendo Direct announcement hit the internet this morning, bearing fantastic news for Switch owners.

The journalist claimed the information came from a source close to the publisher.

Nintendo announced at a new Nintendo Direct several cool video games coming to the Switch console.

Dark Souls Remastered is coming to Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC, with new graphics, enhanced features, and more. Players could also appear in each others' games to either help or hinder each others' progress, maintaining a community of dedicated players that is still active seven years later. The game is known for its difficulty, so to make things easier, Nintendo is introducing a new character named Funky Kong.

That wasn't all, of course.

Something to keep in mind is that FROMSOFT also joined in with Nintendo to develop games for the Switch, it's possible that the remaster may be making its way to Switch, which has been rumored quite the many times.

NPD has yet to share an official press release on the sales of consoles and games during the month of December 2016. No specific release date was mentioned, but it is now planned for sometime during the year.

My personal favourite addition is a new Mario tennis game called "Mario Tennis Aces".

The free update to "Super Mario Odyssey" also gives Mario three new outfits: Super Mario Sunshine shirt and glasses, a musician costume and a full knight's armor. While Kirby games have taken the pink puff into a giant robot or a kingdom of yarn, this new game goes back to the roots of Kirby while bringing cooperative gameplay into the mix.

Even more excitingly, though, Donkey Kong is making his debut on Switch.
