Ozil could stay at Arsenal, but Sanchez likely to leave

Manchester City forward Leroy Sane has insisted he has nothing to fear from a potential move for Alexis Sanchez.

But if there is any chance of a lucrative offer for Sanchez and Arsenal having the weight to push a deal through, United's board can not hesitate for a second.

Arsenal are fully aware that replacing a player of Sanchez's calibre is no easy feat, especially considering his importance to the club. The Brazilian will cost around 45 million pounds which in the current transfer market is quite a steal if you consider that Kylian Mbappe went for 186 million pounds.

So whilst Manchester City remain favourites, Manchester United can not be discounted from pulling off a transfer coup not seen since... they stole Romelu Lukaku from under the noses of Chelsea last summer.

Manchester City were believed to be favourites to sign the Chile global thanks to their position in the Premier League and the relationship Sanchez already has with manager Pep Guardiola.

Stoke City have offered Martin O'Neill the chance to return to the Premier League.

The Etihad bosses are also ready to see the 29-year-old Chilean join United. 'Sanchez is an Arsenal player, I don't know but probably this weekend he is going to defend Arsenal colours so I don't think it's correct to say things about Alexis Sanchez.

"Every player has a price, no one is untouchable, and when the transfer window is open it is open for any club who is interested in any of our players", he said.

The United manager said last March that he never would have let Hernandez leave United if he had been in-charge when the player was at Old Trafford.

"It's both, always. These guys want to win, and they want to make money as well", Wenger said. The recent 2-1 victory in the first leg of the English Football League Cup semifinal against Bristol City nearly sealed the final spot for the club in the tournament and football pundits believe City could be on its way to clinch four trophies this season, including the coveted UEFA Champions League.

And Cole believes that Mourinho needs to take advantage of this window of opportunity to sign Sanchez this month.

But Wenger played down talk of a move saying: "He is a good player but nothing is happening".

Mourinho refused to speak about the club's interest in Sanchez but also didn't rule out making a move for him in the near future.
