Phenomenal 2017 sees Suffolk's Ed Sheeran nominated for four Brit Awards

Sheeran is in the running in four categories - British male solo artist, best video and single for Shape of You, and best album.

The New Rules singer, 22, is also shortlisted for best album where she will face stiff competition from Ed Sheeran whose barnstorming third album, Divide, sees him nominated for four gongs.

Dua Lipa's "New Rules", Rag N Bone Man's "Human", Jonas Blue's "Mama" and Jax Jones's "You Don't Know Me" are also nominated.

With 5 million sales worldwide from her one studio album, Dua Lipa is dubbed the next star to hail from the United Kingdom, as the only female British national to achieve a No 1 in the country since Adele in 2015.

Victor of MTV Europe and NME's 2017 Best New Act, UK artist Dua Lipa will set "New Rules" at her first solo appearance in the UAE.

East London rapper J Hus and platinum-selling songwriter Rag'n'Bone Man have three nominations apiece, including for best album, while Stormzy's Gang Signs and Prayer is also nominated.

Dua Lipa's eponymous debut release and afrobeats rapper J Hus's Common Sense are also up for the prestigious prize which was won posthumously by David Bowie at last year's ceremony.

Gorillaz, the xx, Liam Gallagher, Sampha, Wolf Alice, Stormzy, Kate Tempest, Harry Styles and Jessie Ware are among the British musicians up for awards.

Foo Fighters - who are confirmed to perform at this year's ceremony - are up against Arcade Fire, The Killers, LCD Soundstyem and HAIM for best worldwide band.

Taylor Swift, Lorde, Bjork, Pink and Alicia Keys are all nominated for best global female while actor Donald Glover's musical alter-ego, Childish Gambino, earns a nod in the best worldwide male category.
