Android Oreo released for Nokia 6 (2018) and Nokia 7

Android Oreo released for Nokia 6 (2018) and Nokia 7

The latest development emerges days after the company Android Oreo Beta Labs for the original Nokia 6 in India.

HMD has started pushing January Security update 2018 to Nokia 3 in many markets. The global users who are now running the android version 7.12.14 are soon to receive an OTA upgrade Android 8.0 for Mi 6. The update is now available only in China since the smartphones are not available for purchase in the country.

Interestingly, the Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7, and Nokia 6 (2017) all are now running Android Nougat - despite the fact that the latest Nokia 6 model was just earlier this month.

It's good to see that Nokia is also providing the software support for devices which are not its flagships.

Of the three Nokia phones already installed with Android Oreo, only the Nokia 8 has the stable version. The only difference between the two phones is screen size - the Nokia 7 sports a 5.2-inch screen with a Full HD resolution, while the Nokia 6 has a 5.5-inch screen with a Full HD resolution.

The 2018 Nokia 6 was made official earlier this month and the handset comes with a number of upgrades over the previous model.

We'll be sure to let you know if there's any more news surrounding either device, be it an worldwide launch announcement or the inclusion of Project Treble. The company announced the news of the roll-out on Chinese social networking website Weibo. Enter your email to be subscribed to our newsletter.
