Kristen Wiig to Star in Apple Comedy Series From Reese Witherspoon

The Hollywood Reporter claims today, however, that Apple is shelling out upward of $1.25 million per episode to both Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon for their upcoming show... The latest addition is a comedy starring SNL alum Kristen Wiig and is said to be inspired by a Curtis Sittenfeld short story collection called You Think It, I'll Say It. Hello Sunshine's Lauren Neustadter and Sittenfeld himself will also work as consulting producers on the project.

Almost 6 years after signing off from Saturday Night Live, Kristen Wiig is returning to TV! This also marks Apple's first half-hour scripted comedy order.

While we've heard quite a bit about the different series Apple has planned for its original content efforts, details on those shows have been sparse. Don't forget Octavia Spencer's Are You Sleeping, based on the novel of the same name that spotlights the dangers of true crime obsession.

In addition to the three Witherspoon projects, Apple is also prepping a reboot of "Amazing Stories" from executive producer Steven Spielberg, Ron Moore's untitled space race drama, the drama "See" from Steven Knight and Francis Lawrence, and the docuseries "Home" from Matt Tyrnauer and Matthew Weaver. Apple has been busy putting together a lineup of shows but it's still unclear when or how they will launched.
