Akshay Kumar Reveals Why He Agreed To Postpone 'Padman' Release

Akshay Kumar and Sanjay Leela Bhansali made a joint appearance and made the announcement. Neeraj Pandey's "Aiyaary", starring Manoj Bajpayee, Sidharth Malhotra, Rakul Preet Singh and Pooja Chopra, which shifted its date to avoid a clash with both the big-budget films, will again be competing with R. Balki's "Padman".

"He knows all our troubles, so he didn't even take two minutes and said, "Whatever you want, however you want, I am with you", Bhansali said, adding that he will be grateful to Akshay for a "lifetime".

Padmaavat would be released as per schedule on 25 January, on the eve of Republic Day, Pad Man would now be released on 9 Febuary. The film also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in main roles. The film is facing opposition from Rajput outfits, who allege that the film distorts historical facts. Padmaavat makers announced the release date of the film earlier this month after they received the clearance from the censor board. It has been a long journey for Padmaavat, which stars Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor.

The producer of the movie, Twinkle Khanna was recently invited to Oxford University to discuss PadMan and all the taboos attached to the subject, reported The Indian Express.

Let's hope Padmaavat gets a peaceful release and get the business it deserves.

"Padman" revolves around the life of India's "menstrual man" Arunachalam Muruganantham - a revolutionary social activist belonging to Tamil Nadu transformed the concept of menstrual hygiene in rural India by creating a low-priced sanitary napkins machine.
