Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka by 163 runs in Tri-Nation Series

Opener Tamim Iqbal hit 84 as Bangladesh blasted 320 for seven in their 50-over game against Sri Lanka in Dhaka on Friday.

The Tigers made the final of the tournament following their record 163-run victory over Sri Lanka in their second match. "If you look at (the) recent past, it is one of our best wins", said captain Mashrafe Mortaza.

Bangladesh's match against Zimbabwe will be played on January 23 before they face Sri Lanka on January 25. "Shakib also could have gone on".

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first against Sri Lanka in the third match of the Tri-Nation one day global cricket series.

Opener Tamim Iqbal struck 84 on way to reaching 11,000 global runs, while Shakib Al Hasan scored 67 to get to the 10,000-run milestone.

That didn't stop the scoring, though, as Rahim, Mahmudullah (24 in 23 balls) and Sabbir Rahman (24 not out in 12) kept the tempo going.

The top performer for Sri Lanka was Thisara Perera, who top scored with 29 and took three wickets.

Sri Lanka, hoping to rebuild under Hathurusingha after their worst year in global cricket, never posed a serious threat in their reply. Tigers now top the table with 10 points from two matches.
