But more importantly, it boasts a white back "to celebrate the winter theme" and gold Olympic rings, inspired by the commemorative flame.

Samsung is understandably stoked for the 2018 Winter Olympics in its home country of South Korea, which is less than one month away. Samsung, as one of the main sponsors of the Games, will give more than 4000 personalised Galaxy Note8 devices to athletes and International Olympic Committee staff.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is considered one of the best Android smartphones now available on the market, boasting a sleek design, top-notch specs, advanced features, and the iconic S Pen stylus.

The company is also giving out the special edition Galaxy Note 8 to all Olympics competitors as well as key staff members, about 4,000 all accounted for in the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Games, according to The Verge.

"Samsung's creation of an Olympic Games Limited Edition device reinforces Samsung and IOC's shared desire to spread the Olympic spirit", IOC President Thomas Back said.

This limited edition Note8 will have pre-loaded special wallpapers and other "useful apps" that Samsung says will "cultivate the utmost Olympic Games experience". The Korean tech company hopes that this new tablet will help those involved in the Olympic Winter Games to document the incredible event.

Basically this is a Note 8 with a new coat of paint, and unfortunately it seems that Samsung has no plans to sell it. Each Paralympian will receive the Galaxy Note8 along with cases that feature the Paralympic Games logo.

The Samsung Galaxy A8 has a 5.6-inch Super AMOLED screen with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by Exynos 8895 octa-core chipset coupled with Mali-G71 MP20 GPU and 6GB RAM. The smartphone runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat and is backed by a 3,300mAh battery. For the front, there is an 8-megapixel shooter with autofocus, f/1.7 aperture and wide-angle lens.

Furthermore, the Note8 features an advanced Iris Scanner with Fingerprint Scanner as added security options on the device.
